Today we move into Chapter Two: “Before I Was Born — The Foundation God Built.” The chapter looks beyond the prison experiences and asks an important question: What was God building in Apostle Reuben’s life before the difficult seasons ever began?

🌱 TODAY’S LESSON: NEVER UNDERESTIMATE A FOUNDATION.

Apostle Reuben tells how his grandfather, John Zinkuratire, gave him a Bible and a soldier’s belt. He describes these as significant generational deposits. He also explains that his father and grandfather taught him the books of the Law and the Prophets from childhood.

Before formal schooling, he says he had already been taught reverence for God and an awareness of sin. The powerful lesson is this:
A person’s future is often influenced by foundations laid long before the future becomes visible.
Parents and grandparents may sometimes wonder:
“Is my child really listening?”
“Will what I am teaching them make a difference?”
Keep building.
The book’s message to parents and grandparents is clear: don’t underestimate what you deposit in a child when you teach them the fear of God and the Word from an early age.

Don’t only give your children money.

Give them values.
Give them wisdom.

Give them a love for God’s Word.

Material possessions can be used up, but a strong foundation can continue influencing generations.
