One bright afternoon, Apostle Reuben Habaasa, with a Bible in one hand and his voice full of conviction, began to share a story of the true meaning of the term “Son of God”.
“Many people, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters, misunderstand what the term ‘Son of God’ truly means. They believe we Christians claim that God gave birth to Jesus, but this is not what the Bible teaches. Let me explain it to you with a story—a story of righteousness, faith, and identity.“- he said.
“When the Scriptures refer to Jesus as the ‘Son of God,’ it does not mean God physically gave birth to Him. Rather, it means that Jesus reflects the righteousness, character, and nature of God Himself. He lived a life free of sin, perfectly aligned with the will of God. This is why He is called the Son of God—because He embodies God’s holiness and truth.
And here’s something even more beautiful: when we choose to live righteously, obeying God’s Word and reflecting His character in our lives, we too become ‘sons’ and ‘daughters’ of God. It’s not about biology; it’s about living in a way that pleases Him.“- he added.

I, Reuben Habaasa, am also a son of God—not because God gave birth to me, but because I have chosen to follow His ways and live according to His truth. The same is true for all of you who strive to live righteously.
So, when someone asks you about the ‘Son of God,’ remember this: it’s not about being born of God in a physical sense. It’s about being like God in character, righteousness, and truth. And that is something every believer can achieve.”
