Apostle Reuben Habaasa’s Interview with David Okello – Part 2

Who is God? The Truth Beyond the Title

In the second part of his interview at Kitwe Town Council, Apostle Reuben Habaasa delved into a profound theological discussion about the identity of God. When asked by David Okello, “Who is God?”, Apostle Reuben responded with a perspective that challenges conventional religious teachings.

First, we must understand that God is just a title, not a name,” he began. “Many people say God without knowing who they are referring to. The Bible itself acknowledges that there are many gods, but I serve only one—the Creator, the Almighty, whose name is Jehovah.”

He pointed to various scriptures where God identifies Himself as Jehovah, distinguishing Him from other deities. “From the beginning, the Creator revealed His name. He is Jehovah, not a mysterious, unnamed being. People who truly seek the truth must recognize Him by His name,” he explained.

Apostle Reuben then addressed the controversial doctrine of the Holy Trinity. “I do not believe in the Trinity,” he stated firmly. “The idea that God exists as three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—is not supported by scripture. God is only one, the Heavenly Father, Jehovah. Jesus himself prayed to His God and acknowledged Him as the only true God. If Jesus had a God, then clearly, God is not three but one.”

He further explained that the confusion about the Trinity comes from human interpretations rather than direct biblical teachings. “The doctrine of the Trinity was created by religious councils long after Jesus ascended. The prophets, Jesus, and the apostles all spoke of one God—the Father, Jehovah.”
